Telangiectasias are dilated or broken blood vessels near the surface of the skin. They often appear as fine pink or red lines and are sometimes clustered or matted. They generally cause no health problems but their underlying cause could be autoimmune diseases. Telangiectasia should be examined by a dermatologist to evaluate the cause and severity of the condition and available treatments.
